Types of Vacuum Pumps

Vacuum SA supplies rotary vane Vacuum Pumps, which are the most commonly used type of Vacuum Pumps, particularly for composite applications.
Rotary vane Vacuum Pumps are oil-operated (oil-sealed) Vacuum Pumps and are available as either single-stage or two-stage models that work by way of positive displacement.

How to Use a Vacuum Pump

  • Ensure the Vacuum Pump is filled with oil to the level indicated on the oil sight glass before operating the pump
  • Regular oil changes will ensure the best vacuum and a prolonged pump life
  • Ensure the Vacuum Pump is in the “off” position before being plugged into an adequate power source
  • Do not run the Vacuum Pump open to atmosphere
  • The Vacuum Pump must be connected to your application via airtight fittings, creating a sealed environment for the best results
